Volunteering Opportunities
Breakfast
Teams: We currently have the first
Saturday breakfast of every month open.
Provide a hot breakfast to our residents
(about 100 people) on a first Saturday of
the month or a holiday. Volunteers may bring
food that is ready to serve or prepare their
food in the Shelter's kitchen. Breakfast is
served from 7:30 to 8:30AM. Typical dishes:
Breakfast: Eggs, bacon, ham, fruits, and
juice. Other ideas include pancakes,
waffles, oatmeal, grits, sausage, French
toast etc.
Weekends and Holidays only.
Please note: This is a donation of
both food and time for about 100 residents.
Lunch Teams:
Provide a hot lunch to our residents (about
100 people) on a Saturday, Sunday and/or a
holiday. Volunteers may bring food that is
ready to serve or prepare their food in the
Shelter's kitchen. Lunch is served from
12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Typical dishes: Chili,
Chicken, pasta dishes, casseroles, pizza,
hotdogs, salad, vegetables, bread, rolls or
tortillas, etc.
Weekends and Holidays only.

Dinner
Teams: Provide a hot dinner to our
residents (about 100 people) on a Friday
and/or a holiday, occasional Saturday or
Sunday open. Volunteers may bring food that
is ready to serve or prepare food in the
Shelter's kitchen. Dinner is served from
5:00 to 6:30 PM Typical dishes include:
Chicken, pasta dishes, casseroles, pizza,
roast beef, vegetables, rolls, dessert, etc.
Fridays and Holidays only.

Weekend
Activity Leaders: Do you know of a group
of people (friends, co-workers, club
members, church members, etc…) who enjoy
creating and providing their own very
special activity for children to participate
in? Well, we have just the opportunity for
you! Saturdays and Sundays are available
10:00-Noon and 1:00-5:00 PM. Some Friday
evenings are open between 6:30 and 8:30.
Examples of past activities include:
kite-making, popcorn and a movie, arts and
crafts, and more. Maximum number of
volunteers is 10; volunteers under the age
of 18 must have 1 parent aged adult
supervisor for every 5 volunteers (e.g.: For
10 volunteers, 2 adult supervisors are
needed).
